Clear, transparent terms of use for this shared digital space, grounded in trust, community care, and digital dignity.

My Commitment to All Y'all: The Terms of Use for This Shared Digital Space πŸ”—

Last Updated: July 4, 2025

Welcome, y'all.

This site, wilfredstephenanfield.com, is a personal, professional, and values-rooted space created by Wilfred Stephen Anfield, MSW, MPH. I'm a DC-based Digital Health & Community Design Strategist working at the intersections of community care, public health, and digital strategy. Guided by my "mason jar values" approach, I hold myself to high ethical standards grounded in trust, transparency, and community care.

This Terms of Use page isn't here to scare you off or bury you in legal jargon. It's here to be clear. It's part of how I put care into practice.

πŸ§‚ What This Site Is (And Isn't) πŸ”—

This website exists to share ideas, reflections, tools, and resources related to public health, social work, digital equity, and care-centered systems change, mixed with a little joy and fun.

This website is not a substitute for professional legal, clinical, medical, or financial advice.

Everything here is shared for educational, informational, and thought-provoking purposes only. If you need help in a clinical or legal sense, please connect with a licensed provider in your area.

To be crystal clear, reading or interacting with this site does not form a guardian-ward, client, or any other professional or therapeutic relationship between us. My role here is to share information and ideas, not to provide personal clinical or advocacy services.

πŸ” Use of My Content πŸ”—

Unless stated otherwise, all original content on this siteβ€”including writing, frameworks, and any downloadable materialsβ€”is licensed under a Creative Commons BY-NC-SA 4.0 license.

That means:

  • You may share my work, provided you give proper credit.
  • You may remix, adapt, and build upon it.
  • You may not use it for commercial purposes.
  • You must share your new creation under the same terms.

Why? I believe knowledge should be shared and built upon collaboratively. This license protects my work and the work of other creators from being used for profit without permission, while inviting you to use it as a foundation for your own non-commercial projects. The only rule is that you share your new creation with the same spirit of openness. It's about designing a commons, together.

Let's Break Bread! I'd love to hear how you've interpreted, remixed, and built upon something you've found here. Sharing is caring, right?

πŸ«±πŸΎβ€πŸ«²πŸ½ Community Engagement & Safety πŸ”—

This website is a shared digital space where we're (you and me!) actively co-designing a community built on respect, curiosity, and care. These principles for engagement apply not just to comments or conversations directly here on the site, but also to our interactions across associated social media channels and in our email communications.

To ensure this digital commons remains welcoming and safe for everyone, we agree to uphold these standards:

  • Respectful Dialogue: Engage with empathy, curiosity, and a willingness to understand diverse perspectives.

  • Respect for Digital Boundaries: Understand and respect personal and professional digital boundaries, including communication frequency and personal space online.

  • No Harmful Content: There is absolutely no room here for hate speech, harassment, spam, personal attacks, or any form of disrespect towards others.

  • Shared Responsibility: We each play a role in maintaining the safety and integrity of this digital space for the collective good.

I reserve the right to remove any content or block any visitor who violates these guidelines or harms the positive, inclusive environment of this shared digital space.

🧠 Digital Health Equity and Digital Care Ethics πŸ”—

This site exists at the intersection of health equity, technology, and care. That means I pay attention to how digital tools affect access to care, quality of life, and community well-being.

Just because information is online doesn't mean it's accessible, safe, or useful for everyone. What you read here should be considered through the lens of:

  • Digital determinants of health
  • Sociodigital status and access
  • Community knowledge and lived experience

Always remember: tools can empower or harm. Digital spaces must be built with the same care and accountability as physical ones.

Your trust is everything. I have a separate Privacy Policy that explains exactly how I handle any data collected on this site. Please read it.

From time to time, I may also link to external platforms (like YouTube). These sites have their own terms and privacy practices. I embed and link responsibly, but I can't guarantee what third parties will do, so I encourage you to be mindful. And if one of those links misses the mark, feel free to let me know.

🧑 When we know better, we do better.

The Necessary Fine Print (Kept Plain) πŸ”—

Similar to the first website I created using Geocities, I've put time and effort into this site. And while I try to get everything on this website to work just right, I can't guarantee that it will always be perfectly up-to-date, accurate, or available. You agree that you're using this site at your own risk. To the fullest extent that the law allows, I am not liable for any damages, injuries, or losses that might arise from your use of this educational content. I understand how important it is to find the right support for your unique situation, which is why consulting a licensed provider can make a world of difference.

πŸ“… Updates to These Terms πŸ”—

I may update these Terms of Use occasionally to reflect changes in law, tools, or how I show up online. I'll update the date above when I do. If anything changes in a major way, I'll post a note on the site or newsletter so y'all know.

πŸ“¬ Questions? Feedback? πŸ”—

If you've got a question about these terms, something's unclear, or you've got feedback about how I can make this space more just, accessible, or transparent, email me at [email protected].

Thanks for being here. Thanks for reading the fine print. And thanks for believing that care is infrastructure.
